Responsible Gambling at Bananzia
We want every session at Bananzia to stay enjoyable. Gambling works as entertainment when you stay in control of the time and money you spend, and when it stops being fun, it's time to step back. This page explains the warning signs worth watching for, the limits you can set with us, and where to get confidential help in the UK.
Why responsible gambling matters
Gambling is a choice, not an obligation. The moment it feels like something you have to do rather than something you want to do, the balance has shifted. We provide slots, live dealer games and sports betting for players aged 18 and over (18+), and our role is to give you the tools to stay in charge of that choice.
Setting a boundary before you play is easier than pulling back once you're deep into a session. Decide what you can afford to lose, fix a time limit, and treat those limits as final.
Signs gambling is getting out of hand
These behaviours are concrete warning signs, not personality judgments:
- Chasing losses by depositing again immediately after a losing streak
- Gambling with money meant for rent, bills or food
- Lying to family or friends about how much you've spent or how often you play
- Borrowing money or taking out credit to fund a session
- Missing work, social plans or sleep because you're playing
- Feeling anxious, irritable or restless when you're not gambling
If two or more of those apply to you, it's worth pausing and speaking to someone who can help.
Questions worth asking yourself
This is not a diagnosis, but an honest yes to several of these suggests gambling has moved past entertainment:
- Do you gamble longer than you planned?
- Have you tried to cut back and found you couldn't?
- Do you feel guilty or ashamed after a session?
- Has anyone close to you said they're worried about your gambling?
- Do you gamble to escape stress, boredom or low mood?
- Have you sold belongings or borrowed money to keep playing?
Bananzia's control tools
We offer deposit limits, loss limits, wager limits and session limits that you set from your account. A deposit limit caps how much you can add in a day, week or month. A loss limit stops play once you've lost a set amount. A wager limit restricts the total stake you can place, and a session limit ends your access after a fixed period of time.
Reality checks remind you how long you've been playing and how much you've spent. You choose the interval—every 30 minutes, every hour—and a pop-up shows your session summary.
Time-outs lock your account for 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. You cannot reverse a time-out once it's active, and no deposits or play are possible until the period ends.
Self-exclusion closes your account for a minimum of six months. You can request this by contacting our support team, and once confirmed, you will not be able to reopen the account or create a new one with us during that period.
Permanent closure is available on request. If you want to stop playing with us for good, email [email protected] and we'll process the closure within two working days.
Practical limits that work
These are specific steps that help keep play recreational:
- Set a weekly deposit ceiling you can genuinely afford to lose, and do not raise it after a bad week.
- Use a separate account or e-wallet for gambling only, funded with a fixed amount each month.
- Never gamble when you're tired, upset or under the influence—judgment suffers and stakes climb.
- Take a 15-minute break every hour, away from the screen.
- If a session goes badly, log out rather than chasing. Tomorrow is another day.
Where to get help in the UK
GamCare runs the National Gambling Helpline, reachable at 0808 8020 133, free and open 24 hours a day, every day. Trained advisors offer confidential support, and you can also use the live chat on gamcare.org.uk.
BeGambleAware provides information, self-assessment tools and a directory of treatment services at begambleaware.org. The site is a starting point if you're not sure whether you need help or what kind.
Gordon Moody offers residential treatment programmes and online cognitive behavioural therapy for people with serious gambling problems. Visit gordonmoody.org.uk for referral details.
GamStop is a free national self-exclusion scheme that blocks access to all UK-licensed gambling sites. Register at gamstop.co.uk, and the exclusion lasts for six months, one year or five years depending on what you choose.
Blocking software
Gamban (gamban.com) blocks tens of thousands of gambling sites and apps across all your devices. It costs £24.99 for an annual licence, and once installed it cannot be uninstalled until the period ends.
BetBlocker (betblocker.org) is free, open-source software that works on desktop, mobile and tablet. It blocks gambling domains and can be locked for a set period to prevent you from turning it off during a weak moment.
Protecting minors
Our platform is strictly for players aged 18 and over. If you share a device with anyone under 18, install parental-control software such as Net Nanny or Qustodio to block gambling sites entirely for younger users.
Keep payment details and login credentials private, and check your account history regularly to spot any unauthorised use.
Contact and support
If you need to discuss a limit, close your account or ask about self-exclusion, email [email protected]. We respond within 48 hours, and all requests are handled confidentially.
Gambling should be entertainment, not a chore. The tools above exist so you can keep it that way.
This site is for players aged 18 and over (18+) only. If gambling ever stops feeling like entertainment, free and confidential support is available at BeGambleAware.org.
