Privacy Policy – Bananzia

This notice explains how care4.me.uk handles the personal information you share with us. We run an independent information portal about Bananzia, and we take your privacy seriously.

Who controls your data

care4.me.uk is the data controller for any information you submit through this site. We are responsible for deciding how that data is used, stored and protected. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].

What information we collect

We gather two kinds of data: what you give us directly, and what we observe while you browse.

Information you provide: When you fill in a contact form or subscribe to updates, we collect your email address and any message you send. We do not ask for payment details, identity documents or account credentials — this portal has no access to player accounts at the operator.

Technical data: Your browser automatically sends us your IP address, device type, operating system, browser version and the pages you visit. We use this to understand how the site is used and to spot problems. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics, where consent is given) record session duration, referral source and page views. These tools may set their own cookies; consult their privacy policies for details.

Why we process your data

We use your information to respond to enquiries, improve the site's content and layout, and comply with legal obligations. Analytics helps us see which pages are read most, so we know what to write next. Email addresses submitted through a contact form are used only to reply to that message — we do not add you to a mailing list without separate, explicit consent.

Under UK GDPR, we process your data on the following grounds:

  • Consent: Analytics and non-essential cookies require your agreement, given through the cookie banner.
  • Legitimate interests: We have a valid reason to collect technical data — keeping the site secure, fixing errors and understanding what our readers need — and that interest does not override your rights.
  • Legal obligation: We retain certain records to comply with data-protection and consumer law.

Who else sees your information

We share data with a small number of third parties, all of whom process it under contract:

  • Hosting provider: The server that delivers this site stores log files, which include IP addresses and timestamps.
  • Analytics services: Google Analytics (when you consent) receives anonymised usage data. We have turned on IP anonymisation so your full address is never stored.
  • Email provider: Messages sent through the contact form pass through an email service to reach our inbox.

We never sell your data, and we never pass it to advertisers or data brokers. If the law requires us to disclose information — for example, in response to a valid court order — we will do so, but only to the extent legally required.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the following rights, and you can exercise any of them by writing to [email protected]:

Right What it means
Access Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Rectification Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
Erasure Request deletion of your data when we no longer need it, or when you withdraw consent.
Restriction Ask us to stop processing your data temporarily while a dispute is resolved.
Portability Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format, or have it sent to another controller.
Objection Object to processing based on legitimate interests, or to direct marketing.
Withdraw consent Revoke consent for analytics or marketing at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

We will respond within one month. If your request is complex or we receive several at once, we may extend that period by two months and will tell you why. There is no fee unless your request is clearly unfounded or excessive.

Making a complaint

If you believe we have mishandled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's supervisory authority for data protection. Visit ico.org.uk or call 0303 123 1113.

How long we keep your data

Contact-form submissions are kept for two years, then deleted. Server logs (IP addresses, timestamps) are retained for 90 days for security monitoring, then purged. Analytics data is anonymised and held for 26 months by Google. If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will do so unless a legal obligation requires us to keep it.

Protection of minors

This site is intended for adults aged 18 and over (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

International transfers

Some of the third parties we work with (such as Google Analytics) may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we ensure adequate safeguards are in place — typically Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the ICO — so your data receives equivalent protection.

Changes to this policy

We review this privacy notice regularly and update it when our practices change or the law requires it. The date at the end of this page shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be highlighted on the homepage for 30 days.

If you have questions about how we handle your information, write to [email protected]. We aim to reply within 48 hours.
